Dynamic Simulation, Parameter Optimization, and Control of a Reactive Distillation Column for Production of Isopropanol via Propylene Hydration

In this study, a reactive distillation column for production of isopropanol was investigated. Firstly, dynamic model developed the process. The process then programmed, and simulated using base case obtained from literature. Results showed that distillate contained more than 58 mol% propylene-free<br /> isopropanol. next step, optimization some operating variables performed to<br maximize concentration in with condenser temperature as constraint, which considered to be above freezing point water. Several simulations were by changing parameters, finally optimum content mol%. classic controllers PID controller had best performance both set-point tracking disturbance rejection.
